Thurles Betting Tips: 11/02/2021 (Colossus Place 6)

Evening,
Hopefully we make it third time lucky with the articles given the last two previews have been called off due to the weather.
Leg 1: 13.45 - Templemore Beginners Chase
EXIT POLL should take the world of beating returning to two-miles with the strongest form lines to back that up. He took the scalp of some good horses on his final start over hurdles and wasn’t far behind the likes of Concertista and Entoucas beforehand. He could only manage seventh last time out but, in addition, it wasn’t the jumping that let him down but more so the extended distance that stretched him. His second behind Andy Dufresne at Wexford back in October reads well so he gets the confident vote to get off the mark in this sphere against a moderate bunch.
Tips: EXIT POLL
Leg 2: 14.15 - Racing Again February 25th Handicap Chase
THE CHAPEL FIELD is a C&D winner who ran well to finish fourth when last in action. A repeat of that performance might well suffice here given this race lacks any strength in depth and he ticks plenty of boxes. SHOPPING AROUND looked much-improved when second on handicap debut at Naas a couple of months ago, faring best of those held-up. He should have more to offer in this sphere.
Tips: THE CHAPEL FIELD, SHOPPING AROUND
Leg 3: 14.50 - thurles.ie Maiden Hurdle
This doesn’t look a strong event considering the number of runners and I’m sweet on the chances of RISK FACTOR. He was a classy bumper horse, including when chasing home Appreciate It in a Grade 2 and ran well to an extent when last seen. With more to come, I think he’s banker material to finish in the frame with an excellent chance of victory. GORKI D’AIRY occupied the runner-up spot on debut for Willie Mullins, shaping with plenty of promise. I can envisage him appreciating the drop back in trip, so he should go close.
Tips: RISK FACTOR, GORKI D’AIRY
Leg 4: 15.20 - Horse & Jockey Rated Novice Hurdle
CAPODANNO could only manage third when sent off a warm-favourite on debut back in December at Clonmel. However, he utilised that experience to good effect when winning easily over the minimum trip at the same track last month and has leading claims under favourable conditions tomorrow. CASTLEBROOK may well need the outing having been off the track for 413 days, but he looked promising back in 2019, chasing home high-class chasers Faugheen and Samcro in a Grade 1 at Limerick. If his fitness is anywhere near 80-85%, the eight-year-old could outclass this field.
Tips: CAPODANNO, CASTLEBROOK
Leg 5: 15.50 - Holycross Maiden Hurdle
METICULOUS was a brilliant bumper horse, who chased home the superstar Envoi Allen in a Grade 2 back in 2019. He’s yet to scale those heights over hurdles and was disappointing last time out, but he’s still got time on his side and shouldn’t be underestimated here if the break has done him good. Of the rest, MERCURY LANE is progressing nicely and should be firmly on the mix with his stable and rider in good form.
Tips: METICULOUS, MERCURY LANE
Leg 6: 16.25 - Killinan Handicap Hurdle (80-95)
Not a race that sets the heart pulsing but QUEEN OF FAME ran above expectations to finish a good second last time out on heavy ground and has ideal ground here with the scope to improve given her lightly-raced profile. PRESENTING POINT was pulled up last time but, again, has good form on this sort of ground and is the type to bounce back.
Tips: QUEEN OF FAME, PRESENTING POINT
