13.00 - 2021 Season Starts Here Apprentice Handicap - 1m4f
There should be more to come from Ed Walker’s FIRST CHARGE, who improved to make a winning handicap debut last season and today’s stiffer test of stamina should unlock further improvement. CHIEF CRAFTSMAN heads the list of dangers and should go well under his useful claimer.
Tips: FIRST CHARGE, CHIEF CRAFTSMAN
13.30 - Jamaican Flight Handicap - 2m2f
THE RUTLAND REBEL has markedly upped his game this winter on the AW and looks fairly treated switched back to turf here. Of the rest, THAI TERRIER represents a stable in good form and has a good chance now eased in grade under Ben Curtis.
Tips: THE RUTLAND REBEL, THAI TERRIER
14.00 - Go Racing In Yorkshire Handicap - 1m2f
David Allan’s presence on FISHABLE looks interesting given his mount recorded back-to-back 9.8f Ripon handicaps last summer and ended last season with a couple of placed efforts, latterly at Doncaster. He’s only disappointed in one outing for connections and should give the favourite plenty to think about, while VICTORY CHIME made all to score over C&D in September and is respected.
Tips: FISHABLE, VICTORY CHIME
14.30 - Racing TV On Sky Channel 426 Handicap - 6f
A good race in prospect with marginal preference for BICKERSTAFFE who did well to win impressively on debut and having been bumped at the start. He was far from disgraced in a Listed event next-time-out when sent off favourite and remains open to improvement on switch to handicapping. Of the others, OUT THE HAT should relish the drying ground and can’t be ruled out on handicap debut.
Tips: BICKERSTAFFE, OUT THE HAT
15.00 - British Stallion Studs EBF 'High-Rise' Maiden Stakes - 1m4f
KING FRANKEL had gone well twice on turf at Goodwood last year and remains with potential now up in trip so, in truth, should take all of the beating for a team who have made a flying start to the year.
Tips: KING FRANKEL
15.30 - racingtv.com Novice Stakes - 6f
SPYCATCHER sets a high standard based on his excellent effort in the Acomb Stakes at York
and will be very hard to beat if performing to anywhere near that level here. The remainder are hard to recommend and need to step up to play a leading role.
