Today’s meeting at Taunton was unfortunately abandoned but I have covered tomorrow’s card at Newcastle.
Leg 1: 13.30 - Betway Handicap
MELGATE MAJEURE is a real course specialist having won here four times in the past including on his penultimate outing. He remains unproven at this trip but has to be respected from his workable mark. AD LIBITUM took full advantage of his falling handicap mark when scoring over C&D a fortnight ago and remains of interest in follow-up bid based on old form.
Tips: MELGATE MAJEURE, AD LIBITUM
Leg 2: 14.00 - Betway Casino Classified Stakes
Brian Ellison’s filly SEZINA has been threatening to get her head in front the last couple of occasions and looks shortlist material with an excellent chance of victory given her level of consistency. HAJEY was an excellent third at this course last time out and looks next best.
Tips: SEZINA, HAJEY
Leg 3: 14.30 - Bombardier British Hopped Amber Beer Median Auction Maiden Stakes
RAISE THE ROOF did well to finish as close as she did when fourth at Wolverhampton having stumbled badly when the race began to warm up and can confirm that initial promise with a bigger effort here. ELEVEN ELEVEN looks an interesting newcomer representing a yard who does well at this venue and could get involved if the market speaks in his favour.
Tips: RAISE THE ROOF, ELEVEN ELEVEN
Leg 4: 15.00 - Bombardier Handicap
DRAGONS WILL RISE could only muster a third place effort at Wolverhampton a couple of months ago but the form has been boosted by the first and second since. He certainly remains interesting with the strongest form in the book. Of the rest, BLAZING DREAMS has C&D winning form and merits consideration from a handy mark.
Tips: DRAGONS WILL RISE, BLAZING DREAMS
Leg 5: 15.30 - Bombardier 'March To Your Own Drum' Handicap
KINDLY was an eye-catcher to note when keeping on strongly to finish third at Lingfield last time out and is fancied to improve on that effort here from a 2Ib lower mark. TOMMY G is extremely well treated based on past exploits and looked on good terms with himself when third over C&D a couple of weeks ago.
Tips: TOMMY G, KINDLY
Leg 6: 16.00 - Play Ladbrokes 5-A-Side On Football Handicap
Bryan Smart is a trainer to follow at this course and his runner HAGAR could find further improvement from a mark that looks well within his grasp at this modest level. THE MOUSEN CHAMP is an appealing outsider who would go close with a repeat of his second at Wolverhampton two starts ago.
Tips: HAGAR, THE MOUSEN CHAMP
