I have two selection’s for tomorrow’s racing.
NOW CHILDREN (12.20 Lingfield, 0.5pts each-way @9/1)
A competitive opener with the vote in favour of NOW CHILDREN who looks wildly overpriced at 12/1 with most firms. Alexandra Dunn’s seven-year-old hasn’t been able to replicate his flat form to hurdling, but this 'Jumpers' Bumper' NH Flat Race looks a good opportunity for him to make an impact.
A glance through his flat form suggests he’s better than these, having achieved a mark of 97. For instance, Now Children was a winner of a class-two event in that discipline and has winning form on this surface, so he’s surely worth an each-way wager at the prices with a decent chance of taking top honours.
HAPPY HOLLOW (13.40 Newcastle, 0.5pts each-way @6/1)
HAPPY HOLLOW might be a nine-year-old but remains lightly-raced with low-mileage on the clock and is capable of going close in a race of this nature. He has to be feared given that he is comparatively unexposed and proved his well-being over hurdles in three starts without success.
But his bumper form, particularly when beating Cheltenham Festival hero, Mister Whitaker, is clearly the strongest piece of form on offer and that could prove pivotal in the context of this contest. With further progress on the cards, he gets the nod being marginally the classier individual in the line-up.
